Positive Activities for Young People
Following on from our previous work with young people we can now announce two new projects we're embarking upon with Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council.
Both bodies have asked us to build fun, interactive websites where young people can access information on positive activities in their local area. The new sites will also provide a new youth-friendly front end to 1 Big Database, the online directory of services for children and young people aged 0-19 and their parents and carers in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
Users of the site will have access to forums, news, youth information and links to related websites, as well as an events calendar, where they can leave their comments and rate the events.
The provision of a comprehensive directory of services is something all councils will have to provide by law from April 2008. By commissioning these websites, Bristol City and South Gloucestershire Councils are ensuring that as many young people as possible gain access to the information they need.
